About the Agent

Edgar DeLeon was born in Long Beach, CA. In 1994, during his freshman year of High School, his family moved to the Omaha area to work in the packing house industry. He attended South High, then eventually graduated with a Bachelors degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. During college Edgar had an internship with Omaha Public Schools that allowed him to work in three different Omaha area High Schools as a Teacher's assistant. In addition he worked at the Boys and Girls club providing educational programming in the Teen center, and through an Omaha agency he taught after-school programs teaching Gang prevention and Social Skills. Edgar really enjoyed working in the community with youth, he was certain a teaching career was in store for him, life however took him along a different professional path. In his last semester before graduating from U.N.O. as a teacher he was offered a position to work for a Nebraska bilingual marketing company. In this role Edgar worked with business owners to create marketing plans to help them grow their business. In the process of this work Edgar was recruited by the owner of a large Omaha car dealership to be their first bilingual representative. Edgar was eventually promoted to Finance manager, then worked his way up to New Car Manager where hew could lead a team of up to forty representatives. Edgar would eventually work almost ten years in the automotive industry.

In 2012 Edgar joined State Farm when he decided to start his own business to have more time for his family and to return to work he felt a passion for and where he felt he could impact the lives of those he worked with like when he worked in education. Looking at the different opportunities to open a business, the State Farm opportunity seemed to be a great fit with his background in education, marketing, and the automotive industry. Edgar loved what State Farm stood for as a company, to be a good neighbor, to help customers be prepared for the unexpected, and through some of products State Farm offers help customers reach their dreams. Becoming a State Farm agent has allowed Edgar to re-connect with his community making a positive difference in the lives of customers, and it is for this reason he loves what he does.

Edgar has been happily married for twenty years to his wife Yolanda. Together they have three beautiful children which they enjoy spending quality time with, in addition to supporting the many sports/activities they are involved with.
